The small sandy beach in Vernazza is full of Ligurian character and, despite the fact it is not the most popular sunbathing venue in Cinque Terre, at least from a tourist point of view, locals are very fond of it and use it extensively. The beach is located in the vicinity of the main public square in Vernazza, which gives visitors the possibility to get to a restaurant in no time and grab a quick snack or have a hearty meal.
The beach is washed by calm shallow waters, mostly due to the fact it is protected by the port which creates a sort of natural shelter against the occasional sea turbulences. The stretch of sand is pegged out by flat rocks which are great for sunbathing and idling away in the sea breeze.
